Cleaner Handbook
Read it top to bottom once, before your first job. On a job, The rooms is the part you work from.

Welcome to Vassal
Welcome. We're glad you're here. This one page is the whole job: what it pays, what you bring, what a finished clean looks like, and where the lines are. There is nothing else you are measured on.
You are your own boss here. You're an independent contractor. You choose which jobs you take, you work your own hours, and you can clean for anyone else you like.
Our side: we find the work, price it, handle the customer, and pay you a flat rate per job that you see before you accept. Your side: clean to the standard on this page and tell us the moment something is wrong.
Before your first job
- 1
Sign the agreement
We text you a private link. It is the 1099 contractor agreement. Read it before you sign it.
- 2
Send your W-9
A second private link, which only appears once the agreement is signed. Filed once, never asked for again. You never email us a Social Security number.
- 3
Send your certificate of insurance
Its own link, and the same one you reuse whenever your policy renews. No cover yet? Tell us before you accept a job and we will talk it through.
- 4
We onboard you onto the scheduling app
We create your account, the app emails you an invite, and we walk you through it on a call. The whole procedure is below. That is the last step before work reaches you.
02
The scheduling app
One app on your phone runs the whole job: the offer, the address, the clock, the checklist, the photos and your pay. Download it when the invite email arrives and turn notifications on: that is how work reaches you. The whole procedure, start to finish, is below.
- 1
We offer you a job
You get a notification. Nothing is assigned to you without your say-so.
- 2
You say yes or no
Decline as many as you like. There is no quota and no penalty. Once you accept, a customer is expecting you.
- 3
The job tells you everything
Address, time window, what was booked, which extras were paid for, and the access notes. Read the notes before you drive.
- 4
You clock in at the property
On arrival, not on the way. The app records where you clocked in, only to confirm the job was attended. It never follows you between jobs.
- 5
The checklist is already there
It is built from the booking, so it already matches what the customer paid for. Work it room by room.
- 6
Photos upload inside the checklist
Before and after, every room, from the same doorway. The customer sees them. Check they uploaded before you drive away.
- 7
You clock out
Clock-out opens once the checklist is done. A finished checklist is what sends your pay.
- 8
Your pay is there too
You connect your own bank through the app, under Profile. We never see or hold your banking details. Every job you have been paid for is listed there, and each job is sent on its own once the clean is complete. There is no weekly payday to wait for.
03
The deal
Four terms. They do not change job to job.
Your jobs, your call
No quota. No penalty for declining a job.
Flat dollars per job
Rate shown before you accept. It does not change after. Extras on a booking add to it.
Paid after every job
Your pay is sent as soon as you clock out and your photos are in. There is no weekly payday to wait for. It usually reaches your bank 3 to 4 business days after the clean.

What a job pays
Build the job you would actually take. Add-ons and square footage both raise the rate and the scheduled time.

What you bring
You supply everything. Nothing is kept at the property and nothing is provided on site unless the booking notes say so.
Every job
16In the car before you leave. No job is done without these.
- Vacuum, with a hose attachment

- Paper towels
- Rubber gloves
- A caddy to carry it room to room
- All-purpose cleaner

Every job — the same twelve steps
Arrival to departure, in three parts. Steps 5–8 are the four rooms — the checklist for each is in The rooms.
Arrive · 1–4
- 1
Read the booking notes before you start
The notes tell you how to get in.
- 2
Clock in at the property
When you arrive, not while you drive.
- 3
Walk through the whole home once
Do this before you touch anything. See what is left out. You move it and clean under it, room by room.
- 4
Take and upload the before photosphoto
Stand in the doorway of every room and take a photo before you start. Photograph anything already broken and tag it Damages.

Take and upload the after photosphoto

Before you leavephoto
Lights off · trash out · doors and windows locked.
- 11
Anything you could not complete
Text (786) 746-6533 the same day. Say what you could not do and why. Or write it on the task.
- 12
Clock out
The photo rules — they protect you
- Doorway, same angle, every time. Upload inside the step you are on. The customer sees the photos.
- Damage photographed at arrival (step 4) is on record as already there. Without that photo, nothing shows it was there before you were.
- Check your uploads before you drive away. A photo that did not upload shows on the photo task. That is usually bad signal. Add it again after the checklist.
- Clock-out opens when the checklist is complete. The app sometimes clocks you out first. Finish the checklist anyway. Your pay needs it.
07

What each service adds
Each one is the one before it, plus more. The four rooms above are in all three.
Standard clean
2h 15mthe core cleanThe maintenance clean. Everything visible and everything touched.
Deep clean
3h 36m+8 moreEverything in a standard clean, plus the things a standard clean does not do.
- Inside cabinets and drawers, where they're empty
- Baseboards and door frames, wiped by hand
- Window sills and tracks
- Lights and ceiling fans you can reach
- Vents and the cover over the stove fan
- Behind and under appliances that move
- Grout scrubbed, kitchen and bathrooms
- Blinds dusted. Do not wash them one blind at a time.
We don't unpack cabinets. Full ones are left alone, and we'll tell you which.
Move-in / move-out
4h 36m+5 moreA deep clean in an empty home, plus what the landlord checks.
- Inside every cabinet, drawer and closet, full ones too
- Inside the fridge
- Inside the oven
- The dishwasher filter
- Marks on walls that come off without taking the paint
Inside the oven and fridge are included. Landlords check both, so we don't sell them separately here.
09
The extras — sold on top of a service
What you earn when one is on the booking. Marked each means the customer can buy several — check the count, and you are paid for every one.
- Inside the oven+$17.50 each
Already included on a move-in / move-out — not sold, and not paid, there.
- Inside the fridge+$17.50 each
Already included on a move-in / move-out — not sold, and not paid, there.
- Interior windows+$22.50
- Laundry(per load)+$12.50 each
- Restock paper goods(the customer supplies them)+$10
- Heavy pet hair+$12.50
- Dishes(sink load, washed and put away)+$12.50
- Everything in and around the sink washed, by hand or loaded into the dishwasher
- Clean dishes already in the dishwasher put away first, so there is somewhere to load
- Sink, drain and the counter around it wiped down after
- A sink load. Cabinets are not unpacked and a full kitchen is not a 20-minute job
You clean outside, behind and under things. Inside a fridge, oven or cabinet is extra work. Only do it when the booking says so.
- Only do an extra when it is on the booking. Each extra pays you more. Do one for free and nobody gets paid, not even you. Text us and we add it.
- Move-outs are inspected and a deposit depends on the result. Inside the oven and fridge are included on every move-out. Do them even when the booking does not list them.
- Is the booking wrong? Wrong size, very dirty, or an extra is missing? Text us before you start and we fix it. You never pay for our mistake.
- Re-Clean: free return visit. Fix what the job note names first and photograph it, then re-check the rest.
